Do you mean baby block cakes? I generally make 4" square tiers, 2 layers high, so they come out to be 4" cubes. You can do this with any size square cake, just make sure that your height is the same as your length and width so it is a "block" size.

Are you talking of small cakes shaped into blocks? I have done a large baby block with 3 8X8 cakes stacked. I am a bit unsure of exactly what you are asking.
How many people?
Thanks,
Tracy

I just made four for a shower last week. I used a 10"x10"x3" pan. Cut into quarters, I made two blocks from each pan. Frosted (using the Viva method) with mmf bows attached. I boarded and supported some of them, as needed, for stacking. Not sure what else you need but ask away!

Sorry, I meant the small square cakes shaped like baby blocks, I've seen them done but havent the foggiest on how to make them. Would a small square cake pan do it?

You can use a 4" square pan, but honestly an 8" square is easier and faster. You just cut your finished cake into squares and stack. Otherwise you're baking the little 4" pans all afternoon.

rikley,
That's less than $4 per block. You work way too cheap. And they're a PITA.

My cakes requiring approx. 6 c. batter, like the ones I made for this order, start at $18. Each cube would be 1/2 of that so $9. By the time I add the frosting, filling and fondant not to mention time, even $15 is cheap. HTH
