I just got this book & want to try out the cookies & cream filling on my next cake but I need to know how long this filling will last in the fridge as I may have to have the cake done a few days before I need to serve it. Can a cake filled with this be frozen??

I'm not sure about that recipe, but I have used cookies n creme filling and it keeps in the fridge for awhile. It has heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and Oreo cookies.

I have made it that recipe and it lasts for several days.

I am still curious though on how long it will last on a filled cake, that is covered with fondant, in room temp. I have had requests for this for outdoor kid parties and have just crushed the oreos with some buttercream, as fear of using the whipping cream!

It will hold up alright in the fridge but is best frozen (JMHO). It's very good!

Have you thought about using non-dairy whipping cream which you can find from rich's and other companies.. I think its made from soy and is probably more heat resistant because you dont have to worry about the milk component going off..

Does anyone know how it compares with the cookies and cream filling recipe on this site? I haven't made either and was wondering which one is recommended.

Thanks.
