Sam's sells Rich's Bettercreme (Ready-To-Use) in a large bucket, as well as Dawn-But-R-Creme.

(However, this may vary be location....)

Here's a thread that has info and comments on both:

A thread on Sam's Club/Wal-Mart Buttercreme:

Hi Molly, I just tried it for the first time about 2 months ago. Mine says "White Spread-n-fill But-R-Creme" but it doesn't say anything about Dawn Foods, so this may be a different brand than some sam's carry. It does say "manufactured for wal-mart supercenters."

As for the icing itself, I prefer to make my own but was out of hi-ratio shortening and can't stand regular crisco anymore (too gritty, with aftertaste) so in a pinch I picked up a bucket at sam's club. It was $26.56 for 28 lbs. I've already used it all, but wasn't overly thrilled with the results. The lady at the bakery (in sams) did tell me that they have several local bakeries that order icing from them (i thought it was interesting that they weren't making them homemade)...but I personally didn't think it was all that great. It was alright and if I was in a pinch I'm sure I'd buy it again out of desperation, but that's all. It was just overly sweet, left a strong aftertaste, and was very thin - I don't think it would hold up well with flowers at all. Plus it's the same icing wal-mart uses, and I was afraid my customers would think they could just go buy the cake at wal-mart if they wanted crappy icing...Then again, there are bakers that swear by it - I'm sure it just depends on who you talk to icon_smile.gif
