I was asked by a friend to do a 50th birthday cake for her husband....she wanted something fun and celebratory, so I pitched the Whimsy cake, and she loved it! She left me in complete creative control (yay!), but now I'm stuck on what colors to use!?!....any ideas???...I'd really like to use alot of color, but I'm afraid it would look to childish/juvenile. Thanks!

Hmmm...
I like the Teal and brown combo together...
but then you can throw in a bright color- maybe even white!

Good Luck!! icon_smile.gif

I would do incorporate some gold into it, being the 50th anniversary. Like maybe brown, and ivory.

I think black, teal, silver, and purple. Those colors I see a lot of decorations for a 50th birthday. The party supply store here has those as colors for a lot of celebrations.

I like the idea of the shades of 1 color or the teal and purple. I also like the gold idea since it is the 50th anniversary. However I always think of yellow as my happy color. It also seems to go with just about any other color.

My vote would be for brown and blue (or teal). Incorporating different shades of each color would keep it viusallly appealing and not flat. Both colors would work well with gold. I, personally, would stay away from too many different colors....3 or 4 or more...just to keep it understated and masculine.
