For all of you who deliver your cakes, do have have a first aid kit? What do you have it in? What are the essentials for a potential "oops" away from your kitchen?
I usually only bring these items if I am delivering a wedding cake. I usually bring a bag of icing with a round tip and whatever tip I used to make the border. I also bring a small spatula and a few viva paper towels. If I have used edible pearls on the cake...I will bring some of those too. ![]()
My repair kit has gotten bigger over time. This is what I have in mine: extra icing, extra bag with coupler (in case of a bag blowout) tips 1,2,3,4,5, petal, shell, rose.I keep these in a sm. container, that way I always have them for any cake, viva towels, several spatulas, sissors, flower nail, knife, sm. paint brush (for luster dust and any "stuff" that gets on the cake). I have a door stopper, wet cloth, and I carry a few sm. cardboard discs (helps level a table or a cake stand). I keep it all in a sm. igloo container.
I need to add the door stopper. I don't know how many times I have been to deliver a cake and could find nothing or anyone to hold the stupid door!
There was another thread about this and i made a list of most all the things people suggested. Sorry in advance for the length:
