I have been asked to make a three tier wedding cake with fresh roses between the tiers. The bottom tier will be a 14" round, the middle will be a 10" round and the top will be a 6" round.

Does anyone know about how many roses (Both open roses and buds) it will take to place between each layer.

She have given me a picture of the cake that she wants but I'm not sure what to charge her for the flowers.

Any help is appreciated.

There's an anniversary cake in my gallery....check that out. The size of the roses is pretty important in deciding how many you'll need. We just used one layer of fairly large roses on this cake. The cake is called Giesen Anniversary...I think. Good luck!

Probably around 6 -7 dozen. You can usually get fresh Roses at Sams. The one here you can order the colors you want. They ask for at least 2 weeks. The price here ranges from 14.99 to 19.99 per 2 dozen. Most of the flowers are closed, so if you do get them make sure you allow enough time to them to open. They say you can put them in warm water and it will speed the process. Make sure you take a bucket to carry them in, if not you can buy one of theirs.
