Most of pound cakes are made in loaf pans but I dont see why you cant make them in an angel food pan or any other for that matter

Thanks Darcat, the patron wants round pound cakes so I going to try the angel food cake pan. I wasn't sure if the pan was made for the light texture of angel food cakes.

you can make in a loaf pan, but there are a TON of pound cake pans that are round - use a heavy duty bundt cake pan like these:

Angie,
I always made mine in an angel food pan, that's what my grandmother used, that's what my FIL used. Just recently I bought a pretty bundt pan because it makes a nicer looking cake, but I still like the angel food pan!!! If you are making them for customers, i would go with the bundt though because it does make a prettier cake! HTH

I have used bundt pans, round tube and square tube pans for pound cakes for many years.
