I've got a high-ration buttercream recipe that calls for white icing base. I don't have any on hand - is there anything I can use as a substitute? Or do I even need the stuff?

thanks!

Puzzlegut has made cakemanoh's frosting without the icing base. icon_smile.gif

I've always used the angel white icing base in mine.

This would be nice to know, what is in icing base? Is it something you can make ahead of time so you can use it when needed? Is there a substitution? If you can leave it out, what is the difference to putting it in?
