icon_sad.gif what causes grease line to appear at the bottom of a cake. what am i doing wrong,am i doing to much of something.is there a perfect never fail cake recipe that always comes out good a basic cake recipe for plain and also chocolate,please reply

do you mean on the cake board?

if so, i bet you didn't cover the raw cardboard board w/ anything. the raw cardboard is like a grease magnet.

for future ref.: cover the board w/ some type of food-safe and grease proof wrap.

this could include:
the foils that wilton sells especially for this.
the foils others sell for same purpose.
contact paper (if using clear, can first cover board w/ some other type of paper and then put clear over it)

i always cover my cake boards with aluminum foil. for wedding cakes i buy the cake boards specifically for that.

Myabe you're greasing your pans a bit too zealously before you start baking?

its not the board its the cake itsself,grease lines at the bottom of the cake itself
