Making A Cord

Hello!
can anybody tell me how to make the perfect cord to finish up a cake? i dont know if there´s some apparatus to do it...

If you want to make it out of fondant/gumpaste, a sugarcraft gun like this one will help: http://beryls.safeshopper.com/216/7424.htm?961

Mine came with a disc that has 3 petals in it, sort of clover-shaped. When fondant/gumpaste is extruded from the gun, all I do is twist to make it look like a cord.

If you don't have the sugarcraft gun, you can always roll fondant/gumpaste into 3 long, even sausages and twist.
