are there any new first time moms out there?

i have a 4 month old baby girl that i get to stay home with for a little while before i have go back to work. i don't know if i'll be able to leave her when it comes time for me to go back to my job. i have a year off from my full time job before i have to go back. i'm trying to figure out other options.

is anyone else in the same boat? or does anyone have any advice?

Hi cakerator! I have a 21 month old and I couldn't imagine having to leave him everyday so I know exactly how you feel. My dh was in school (still is) when I was pregnant. I was the only one working but we made the decision that after the baby came we would make due with the money that he gets from student loans. It is difficult and we watch our money very carefully but it is worth it to us for me to be able to stay home with the little man. I have become a religious coupon clipper, watch for sales at the different grocery stores and chains stores. We also don't go out to eat often but we rent movies and do other things that are less expensive. Check with your state and you may even qualify for health insurance for the baby thru medicaid if your household income level drops. Come up with a reasonable/livable budget and see if you can stick with it. It has been so worth it to us.

I would suggest that since you have a year, make changes now to the way you would have to live after the year and see how it goes. It does take time to get used to a new way of living but you'll probably save money that will help in the months to come! Good luck and enjoy the little one!

I'm not such a new mom any more but in the same boat. My son will be turning 3 this year and I'm still unable to leave him in someone elses care. I gave up things to be able to do this but well worth it!!! I don't want to miss out on anything he does. I thank God every day for him and don't even think twice about doing thing different.
