Iknow HOW to apply the accents, whT I am asking about (see my wedding cake) is when I apply the accents, should I do them when the cake is still very chilled (ie. almost frozen) so that the accents dont push down my icing when I apply the accents. i want the edges to remain smooth

I chill my cake and add the fondant decorations while the fondant piece is still fresh and soft. You know when you roll fondant, the under side is always a bit shiny? That is the side I put against the iced cake and they always hold without having to add any type of glue or water.
