How much does it typically cost to have a website created for you? Thanks so much!

A lot of us create our own. Are you talking about spending a few thousand to have one professionally done?

FYI ... I pay $14.95 for the expanded version (20 pages, not the standard 5). It cost nothing for set up fees ... just the monthy cost and I do all set up and changes myself.

10 dollars to register a URL
Hosting varies
Professional design can be very expensive unless you know someone who does it...

Professionally??? I have found a company here that will do a set-up for $350.00 and $50 a month maintaining charge.

I have my own on zoomshare.com and I pay $6.95 for the expanded version with unlimited pages.

I set up and maintain my own also. I pay $11.95 a month through Yahoo. The site builder and other tools they give you are pretty easy to work with for people that dont have a clue on how to do it.
If you want to try to do your own and need some help, pm me and I will help you as much as I can.

I suggest purchasing Microsoft's Expression Web and building your own. The software is about $300 but you can download a free trial at microsoft.com This is what I have been using to build my site. It isn't done yet but you can check it out at www.thecherrybombbakery.com

$4.95 to $9.95 per month on Homestead. Do it yourself...you can do it! Homestead gives you 30 days free so you can play around and get it to where you want it. You choose when it goes live, how often you make changes, etc. Most professional companies charge every time you want to make a change, small or large.

This is the site my daughter uses for her preschool. It is fairly EASY to use their program to set up your pages, and there is no cost for the domain name or for hosting the site. They also have some other site options. Here is a page to compare what each one has and the costs associated with them.

I paid $2,300 for mine (just the design). However, I recommend templatemonster.com for those wanting a professional looking site for cheap.

Along with these lines...... just how do you decide which web building site to use? Any of them you suggest NOT using?

My friend does freelance websites and he's quite talented with it. I think his start at $1000 and then you can pay him to update it or he can make it so you can update it. So if you want it done professionally I would look for someone who does it freelance. Also, another good place to look or contact is The Art Institute. There are a bunch of students out there that would love the freelance work and would be really willing and able to do exactly what you wanted.

Good Luck!
