I am thinking about buying an airbrush. To all of you out there that have one and use it regularly I have some questions:

1. Kopy Kake has 2, one for $150.00 and the other for $225.00. Does anyone have either and which one would be best.

2. How hard is it to use on your cakes? Did it take a lot of practice to master the technique?

3. Do you have to buy one especially made for cakes or can you just buy one at a Hobby Store, will it work just as well?

It's a big purchase so I just want to make sure I get a good one and also that I don't get something that I'm going to need or want to upgrade in a short period of time.

Hi Everyone,
I remember a post on here not to long ago about the CC store getting a air brush system by Ameri- Color. Anyone know when this might be? As I am looking to buy a new system.
Thanks
Theresa

I have the Kopy Kake Air Master. The more expensive one. I can't remember what other one didn't do. I posted a Q before I bought mine and got some good advice and a link to a site that was cheaper than ordering directley from Kopy Kake site, which I did. Try a search for that in the forum.
I'm still not that good at it. I've seen some cakes on here that are really detailed with a air brush, I can't do that yet. But if you need black or red it is out of this world easy and FAST! Plus no black teeth, or bitter red!
I highly recommend to get the cleaner with your order. I had a hard time finding some locally and ended up ordering on line.
I would also start with the small bottles of color. I got the large bottles thinking I wouldn't need to order again for a while. I wouldn't need to, except they all have exp. dates of about 8 months to a year. So I will waste most them.
I have read other CC members bought compressor at the craft store and said it worked just fine, since I had no idea what to look for I just bought the KK.
One last tip. Look into a nose mask icon_confused.gif like for grass cutting or from the Dr's office. Luckily I work for a dentist so I brought some home. After useing airbrush, without mask, you will blow out what ever color you used for about two days. The first time I sneezed orange and black I freaked icon_lol.gif Also when you run the cleaner, it is very strong chemical vapors!
