Help Fast! Cleaning Corn Starch Off Black Mmf!

This is my first time using MMF and it's colored black. Now that it's all rolled out and I have my polka dots cut, they're dusted with corn starch! What should I use to get it off????

Use a soft brush to dust it off. If that doesn't work, airbrush vodka on it. If you don't have an airbrush, wet a sponge lightly with vodka and wipe the cornstarch off.

Hmmm, no airbrush and no vodka! Guess I'll try to brush it off again. Any other liquid that I could use?

Any flavor extract with a high alcohol content - orange, lemon.

Try using vanilla extract.

I have had great success brushing it off with a soft paintbrush. HTH

Thanks for the advice on this!!! I just started using fondant lately and have had the same problem. I had no idea how to remove the white powder from dark colors, especially because trying to brush it off with a paint brush wasn't working for me! thumbs_up.gif

Do ya know I went to the booze store bought a huge bottle of nasty cheap vodka the guy behind the counter looked at me like i was a cheap drunk and I said, it's not for me it's for my cakes... I think he thought "hmmm yea, sure" I'm sure that they've heard all kinds of excuses but none quite like mine, and it's the truth!

Thanks for all the tips! I ended up using my wilton spray color on them, since the color didn't show up anyway!

If i'm a drinking it's gonna be tequilla I just can't manage the vodka, not even mixed with anything.. but i'm a tequilla kind of girl straight up.. Thank you very much! Lol...

But, I am the person who put peach schnapps in my cake this past week, so maybe I should recheck myself icon_smile.gif lol

I figure why not put two things you enjoy together lol...
