Has anyone taken any classes by him? I have an opportunity while he's in Georgia, and was wondering if it was worth the money. It's $100 or pulled sugar, and I don't know whether or not it's worth to take the class. If anyone has any advice, or has pros or cons, please let me know...I have to decide by tomorrow. Thanks!

Ami

I've taken classes with BKeith, including his pulled sugar. He's a great teacher, supplies nearly all of what you'll need, and is a hoot to hang around with for a few hours. $100 is a steal for this type of class--I'd pay that to take it all over again.

Pics of my sugar showpiece done in his class, as well as ribbons and bubbles, are in my photos.

Have fun.
Rae

I haven't taken one of his official classes, but he was one at the teachers at a master class I won at a cake show. He was a great teacher, and I really enjoyed it. icon_smile.gif

All you gotta do is ask. icon_wink.gif

Seriously, those of us who travel to teach don't generally plan our own out-of-town classes. Someone local to the area sets it up for us, and we jsut show up. If you want someone to come to town to teach, you just need to find a location and get the word out to students.

It's pretty common to coordinate classes with an ICES Day of Sharing. Many of us will demo at the DOS for free if we can cover our expenses with the class. Talk to your state rep to see what she can set up. If you don't typically have Days of Sharing in your neck of the woods, get a group of friends together -- I've taught in people's homes on a number of occasions.

You never know what's possible until you start poking around.

And BTW, thanks for all the kind words, everyone. icon_biggrin.gif
