Hi All,

I keep reading wonderful things about them. Now i have a question, i went to a restaurant store nearby they have some that has the removable bottom. Do they all have this? If not, are the removable bottom more money than the regular ones?
Where is the best place to find a few 4" tall in this brand?
Thanks!
Kat

Those would be springform pans. There are several brands that have that type. Any good kitchen supply store would have some. Hope that helps!

Cake Central has Magic Line pans (though not in all sizes): http://shop.cakecentral.com/-c-48_49.html

Country Kitchens has them too: http://www.countrykitchensa.com/catalog/SearchResults.aspx?description=magic%20line&page=-1

They come in 2" and 3" deep pans.

If you get the 2" deep pans, bake 2 cakes to make the 4".
If you get the 3" deep pans, either bake 2 cakes and torte or bake 1 cake and torte to 4".

Baking in 4" deep pans take way too long.

The ones with removable bottoms are springform pans and usually used to make cheesecakes.

I just bought the Wilton Professional prefeered pans. They are just like Magic line, straight sides, lip, ect. but way cheeper.

Not all removable bottom pans are springform pans. Springform pans have the clamp on the side that allows for the removal of the sides prior to removing the cake from the bottom of the pan.

No they are not the springform type of pans! i swear. lol The ones i'm talking about i believe is on the website posted on the reply above this one. (sorry i can't seem to view the "top review" of this post now)
And i've tried doing the double baking and torting...but boy am i horrible with that! i get major lopsidedness.

I want them nice and big for a wedding, so i thought 4" would be wonderful!

thank you

edited to say: thank you playingwithsugar!! those are it.

Um...this might be a stupid question, but if they don't have the clamp type thing on them like springform pans, how do you get the bottom out??

It's a disk that sits in the bottom of the cake pan, and when you turn the pan over to get the cake off, you just take it right off the cake. icon_smile.gif
