I am going to do a cake for a friend. And I just don't feel good about it. Everthing I have done concerning this cake has been a struggle. I am not a professional, but I am o.k. i guess. I think from now on I will just do cakes that I initiate. I am even kind of going a little different from what she wanted. I am just worried it will not be good enough. Anyone ever doubt yourself?

When you say dong cake are you meaning pen*s cake ? If so have you checked out the gallery for naughty cakes?

We all doubt ourselves even some of the best do that. It is human nature to doubt and human to want it to be perfect.

You will do fine...just remember you are your own worst critic and each time you do something you learn just a little bit more.... thumbs_up.gif

Good luck!

If this is a good friend, then you're probably just nervous because you care so much.

Everything should be just fine. If it's not, I'm sure it could be fixed....if this is a friend, I'm sure they'll be understanding.

Just believe that you can do it.

good luck!!

Your cakes are very pretty. You will do fine. Believe me, the first time I made a cake for someone for money, I think I made it 2-3 times before I got it right and that was just the baking part. I was a bundle of nerves!!! You know your cakes are good and your friend does too or they would not have asked you to make the cake.

Chin up!! You can do it and I'm sure your friend is going to be very pleased!!!

When I get nervous about a cake I go through my magazines get pumped up. As long as you are decorating within your ability you will be fine.

Your cakes are beautiful! Don't let your anxiety stop you from doing this cake. We all doubt ourselves and our abilities - especially when you're first getting started.

Go for it! Step out of your comfort zone a little. You'll be surprised at the results.

Edited because I realize that i didn't even respond to the original poster icon_redface.gif

We all doubt ourselves...even some of the best decorators still doubt themselves. You do have some really nice cakes & I'm sure this one will be no different. thumbs_up.gif

I think your cake is lovely too! I get nervous when I'm making a cake, especially if it's going somewhere that I'm not going to be. I still feel like I need to "explain" my decorating sometimes. ha! Everyone gets nervous, I think that's normal. I bet even Collette gets nervous sometimes. Okay, maybe not her, but she did at some point in her career!

Great job on the cake, it's very good!
