I just finished baking some cupcakes and normally when I bake a cake, I'll let it cool for a few minutes and then turn it out onto a cooling rack and wrap it in plastic wrap so it'll stay moist. I was wondering if I could leave the cupcakes in their pan and just put plastic wrap over the top of it. Would the cupcakes be okay doing this?

Another question I have is if I'm making cupcakes in batches and can only fit one muffin pan in the oven at a time, will it be okay to have the 2nd muffin pan already filled and sitting on the counter while the first batch of cupcakes is baking?

I've left cupcakes in the pan before, you might want to loosen them before they cool completely or they may stick.
I don't know if I'd leave the batter out, try filling it and sticking it in the fridge. That will slow the leveners and keep the egg and stuff cold.

I ususally empty the cupcakes out of the pan to cool. As for leaving batter in the pan until the other bakes, i do that all the time with no problems at all. Hope that helps icon_smile.gif

I would empty the cupcakes from the pan to prevent the bottom of them from getting soggy. I always fill my second pan and leave it ready on the counter, no problems with doing that!

If I have alot of cupcakes to bake I put the whole pan in the freezer to set well. I then dump them and put the cups in a gallon freezer bag and put back in freezer. By freezing ahead they will not stick when you put them in the freezer bag. They do not take long to thaw. If you can only bake one pan at a time, I personally like to keep my mix in the frig until I am ready to scoop out more.

I have noticed that the shape changes because of moisture in to pan. The liners can get soggy and on of my pan rust if it gets wet so I would just take them out.

I always dump them out of the pan right away; but mostly because I need to use the pan for the rest of the batch. Keeping the batter out while baking cupcakes is no problem at all. Cupcakes don't take that long to bake!

I don't think you need to cover the baked ones with plastic wrap either unless you're leaving them out for hours or something.
