I am doing a cake today with a strawberry filling ( fruit, sugar, and cornstarch) and a cookies n cream ( cookies, heavy cream, ........) both of these I got from cc. My question is does the cake need to be kept in the frig until the party in the morning?

First of all...the cookies and cream filling is so good you won't believe it!

but yes...it needs to be kept in the fridge. The cream will deflate and technically food code says whipped cream can only be out of the fridge for 4 hours before becoming a health hazard (I know I've left it out a little longer, but that's what the rules say).

Is the cake bc or fondant? Either way, you should be ok just make sure the fondant cake has time to come to room temp and sweat itself out before you deliver it.

Good luck!

The cake will have fondant figures on it. I cam wait and put them on in the morning. Will the cold hurt the piping gel? Thanks for the help and I cant wait to try the cookies n cream

I've never used piping gel before, but I think I've seen it on ice cream cakes that are frozen before. Maybe do a test on a piece of cardboard or something (frost it a little and put some gel on it, stick it in the fridge) just to make sure.

Maybe someone else will have more info on this one for you!
