I don't know if this is a "new" thing or not, but I think it looks FANTASTIC! Anyone try one yet? Is it a problem not having any paper and HOW would you transport them? So cute and very tempting! icon_lol.gif

I just checked it out. I don't have it but how CUTE is that?? I think I'm going to have to add it to my "need to have" list. icon_biggrin.gif

Here's a link. Seems they were out at least last year too, so SOMEONE has to have one and can tell us if they are good or if just baking in a plain ice cream cone is better.

Here's a link to the WS cupcake pan: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/gift/thm/ripR/index.cfm

and here's a link to a great pan for HOLDING ice cream cones - for serving and for baking - genius! http://www.williams-sonoma.com/gift/thm/ripR/index.cfm

I got this pan as a gift last year. I have used it twice and it's headed into the goodwill pile. I tried to transport these by putting tinfoil around them in the pan. They were a mess when I got them to where they needed to be. Maybe a pound cake would have worked better. They were super cute when I had them done. The kids tried to eat them like ice cream cones but they fell apart. I really wanted this to work since I love the ice cream cone cupcakes you make with real cones but they get soggy on me. Hopefully someone else has had better luck with them. My experience was less than stellar.

I was JUST thinking that they may be too crumbly... I'm seriously thinking of getting that cupcake ice cream holder. LITTLE kids would LOVE it and these are MUCH easier to eat than regular cupcakes since they have a handle and don't tip over. Now, it's figuring out HOW to keep them from getting soggy!

I made them once and while they aren't "wet" they aren't crisp anymore either.

I would think you would need a pound cake to make them. Did you see the bug pan? Makes me wish I had little ones.

I even showed the bug pan to dh and he just said, "uh huh"... I TRY to stay away from these specialty pans because EGAD they are difficult to store, but they just get cuter and cuter! Soooooo much better than the Wilton 3d pans, imo.
