I'd like to know if anyone out there in CC Land has this book! If so, then I have a question. Maybe some of you professionals out there could answer a question for me...but first I'd like to know if this book exists in other homes besides mine!!!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! I love love love it! I have a question about one of the stringwork techniques. It tells you to carefully lift the cake out of the cake tin ( the cake is sitting on something inside the tin to lift the cake up in the pan. You use the edge of the pan to attach your stringwork) They tell you, once the stringwork is done to lift the cake. Mind you the cake is already covered in fondant or royal!!!!! blah blah blah but the way I see it, wouldn't that ruin the cake! They don't suggest how to lift it! Anyway, you have to see the cake and instructions. What they tell you to do doesn't seem possible for an amateur such as myself!!!!

The lady that did that book is in England and I believe the cakes in there were made with fruit cake. I have had the pleasure of meeting her twice at ICES conventions. She also demostrated at the last ICES convention.

You can find her at LadyCakes.com under the name Jacques. She's is nice and would be the best person to ask questions too.

I have that book, but haven't got around to trying all the cool techniques yet. I picked it up at Half Price Books for around $5.

Hummm, maybe you leave a section open on the back to slip something in and lift the cake out. Otherwise it does sound impossible.

I have had my book for a long time now! I don't even remember where I got it or how much I paid. If you check out the other titles on the back of the book and then look the titles up, they are expensive!!! icon_eek.gificon_eek.gif

Okay, for those who have the book, look on page 38! Read the directions and tell me how I'm supposed to lift the cake up!!!?? icon_confused.gificon_confused.gificon_confused.gif

I'd like to try this but not sure if I want to risk putting finger dents on my cake lifting it up!!!!
