I am making a cake w/ a black bow and wanted to make the bow sparkle or shimmer. How do I do that??? I'm sure it must be some kind of dust, but I'm so confused on which one and what color.

I think pixie dust may be what you are looking for.

Here's a link to one online seller:

Thank you so much! Do you, by chance know how I would get it to stick to a dry bow? It's very pretty, I think it would look good on black.

I haven't personally done this before, but posts I've read recently say to mix the dust with vodka or something, then paint it on.
I think this helps it stick. But double-check with someone more experienced jut to make sure...

anyone?

Like czyadgrl said, I would mix the dust in a ratio of 1 teaspoon lemon extract or vodka to 1/4 teaspoon of dust. Then, paint it on the bow. That should work just fine. Would love to see a picture of the finished bow and cake!! icon_smile.gif

If you need it sooner, you can use Edible Glitter. I have some made from Wilton.

Hi,
I'm new here, but you can also use vanilla extract to glue your glitter. We use it to glue fondant pieces together. It dries quickly and tastes good!
