I would like to try some new fillings with my cakes. However, it seems like a lot of them require you to refrigerate the cake afterwards. Does anyone have any filling recipes that don't require you to refrigerate the cakes? I know I've heard of people mixing BC with crushed Oreos. But I would like something that I could use between 2 layers of cakes as well as fill my cupcakes.
You can buy pastry/cake fillings from country kitchen, sugarcraft, etc.
Thier all over 10 types to choose from and can be stored in a pantry. Cake can stay out. I have used these for over 10 years. Cream cheese is the most expensive and I prefer that one cold but you can make your own cream cheese but it would need to go in the fridge and can only stay out for 1 or 2 depending on weather.
So buy the ones in the sleeves you will not be disappointed.

Most homemade recipes do usually have to be kept in the fridge.
I like preserves and jams for fruit fillings. You can also use pie fillings. Thicker Ice cream toppings work great as well. There is lemon curd as well as nutella. They are usually fine to leave out for a few days, so having room in the fridge for a cake is never a big worry.
