okay cake buddies...which do you prefer-BCT or chocolate transfer. I'm pretty comfortable now w/BCT's. I've never tried CT's. BCT's seem so convenient because you've already got the BC, food color, etc vs having to buy candle melts & special coloring if you can't find the pre-colored melt in the color you need. Just wonder if it's worth the effort & extra $$$.

I love the chocolate transfers. I haven't had as much success with the FBCT. I just find working with the chocolate easier and I get better detail.
I keep the melt in sealed ziplock bags and it only takes a few, so they last a long time.

Cindy-I looked at your photo's. Your CT's are great. I especially liked Curious George. Do you pipe directly from the zip lock bag? Do you use a tip or just cut tiny hole in the bag?

I like doing both but I definitely prefer the ct's. With a fbct you have to take directly from the freezer to the cake. With a ct I find I have more time to place it where I want it.

After some practice I finally got the hang of CT's. I love them now, previously I did not! I think I still prefer FBCT because I think they are easier, but I think I will definitely do both, depending on the look I want. CT would be better if you want them to stand up or go on the sides of cake. For a transfer on the top of the cake I will still go with FBCT for now. It would be easier to cut through a large design.
