Cake Decorating Books Suggestions?

I love getting new ideas for cakes. I am always looking at my wilton books, and watching for the cake competitions on the food channel. However, I was wanting to get some other cake decorating books for some different ideas. However, when I go to look for them in the bookstore they are listed under author, and I have trouble finding the good ones. Any suggestions?
Try Colette Peters, Kerry Vincent, or go to Amazon.com and put in Colette Peters and it will come up with lists of other authors or books that people bought. Check out your local bookstore under cookbooks too then write down the authors to go back to the library. You could do a google search too..
Good luck...
I am new to cake decorating as you can see in My Photos LOL but I saw this book and it's very good lots of color and pictures of the steps and beautiful cakes The Essential Cake Decorating Guide the hardback book cover is purple with stem flowers
I have the essential guide to cake decorating as well...I use it a lot. I also really like The Well-Decorated Cake by Toba Garrett, Sweet Celebrations by Sylvia Weinstock is also good. Some other names to look for...Kate Sullivan, Margaret Braun and Debbie Brown.
In the cake decorating section of AC Moore, the have several books. I just bought one two days ago with my 50% off coupon. (go to ACMoore.com and download one) Usually the coupons are only 40%, but this week it's 50%. I'd check AC Moore first since half-off is better than full price! The book I got is "the complete step-by-step guide to cake decorating" by Caol Deacon. I like it.
Thank you everyone! This will give me a great place to start. It is much better than wondering the cookbook section at Barnes and Noble!
You have until Thursday to use this 50% off coupon from AC Moore.
Here's the link.

Def. try the anything by Colette Peters... she's a GENIUS! I bought tons of books off of amazon.com and got deals on free shipping and the like b/c i bought them from the same vendors. As for the AC Moore coupons... well lets just say that I cheat and go b/w them and Michaels weekly. P.S. you don't really have to have the coupon, just tell them that you know about it and they almost always let you use it anyway. I bought tons of my cake pan sets and expensive items that way ![]()
