How do you guys buy your powdered sugar? Do you go to the grocery store and buy 8 2 pound bags like I do or is there a better way to do this? My husband is just beside himself that everytime we go grocery shopping I have to pick up at least 3 bags. Is there a better deal out there? icon_cry.gif

I buy 25# boxes of 6x sugar from Costco for less than $14.00. (Just be sure to sift or weight because it's really packed in there.)

For description of 6x powdered sugar:

I buy it in 2 lb bags too (drives my DH nuts as well)

I rarely have occasion to make more than a double batch of icing (when I do it's usually IMBC anyway) but I *REALLY* love the convenience of not having to measure or sift EVER because I almost always make a double batch.

We don't have Costco here in Oklahoma........ maybe I should check out Sam's. I always buy C & H Sugar here in the 2 lb. bags...... does it really matter what brand you buy? My Wilton instructor recommended that we buy the C & H because it was pre-sifted. Can you still get good results buying Wal-Mart's Great Value brand of powdered sugar??

I use Wal Mart's Powdered Sugar and I don't seem to have any problems or notice any difference...I've even used the PS from Aldi too...no problems!! HTH!

I buy the 7 lb. bag at Sam's for under $4. I love it. It's pre-sifted and works great!

I have seen some people use 6x and some use 10x powdered sugar. Can someone tell me the difference and is one better than the other? I have only seen 10x in the stores around here.
Thanks!
Amy
