Do you use buttercream icing for the whole cake or just the picture? Cause if you use it for icing the whole cake wouldnt it be to buttery? Sorry for the dumb questions but Ive never made a cake before! lol

Hi there,

There are no dumb questions! Yes you can use buttercream icing for the whole cake. It does not taste too buttery for most people. Good luck!

All of my cakes are iced completely in buttercream icing.

I find that most of my customers love the all buttercream cake. On my borders i use a stiffer consistency.
