I have been requested to make a 1st birthday cake for a friend's son that will be 1 year old. The party theme is Cowboy & she is wanting a Cowboy themed cake. I am at a total loss for what to do. I don't want to use the Toy Story theme, something more from the Westerns. Also..she is wanting the cake to be marbled. She explained she wants white & chocolate batter some how mixed together prior to baking that would make a marble effect. Any suggestions on both would be great!!
first: W E L C O M E !!!! to our merry band of cake addicts (be warned..this site is addicting!)
lots and lots of options.
could do a big cowboy hat for the main cake and a smaller one for the smash cake
or pair of cowboy boots (one big/one small)
or could do image of cowboy on horse
there are LOTS and lots of cakes in the gallery for inspiration. (for example: go to gallery, choose SEARCH from there and then type in: "hat AND cowboy" to get cowboy hats -- "AND" has to be all caps)
HTH
There was a cake done in the past few days where the bottom tier looked like a bandana-it was awesome!
I make marbled cakes all the time-just mix your white batter like you would for a normal white cake and mix a chocolate batter separately. Pour the white into your prepared baking pan and plop small scoops of chocolate on. Cut it in with a butter knife randomly-it will swirl and look pretty cool!
