I am in process of getting my own home bakery license real soon. From what I had noticed, after I researched who's my competitors in the area, that some of the cake decorators has already closed their business for good. None of them didn't give a reason why, even though they said it was successful all those years.

My concern is will my business be slow and soon go out of business because of what happened to them? What do you think?

I wonder if its just all the time involved and the stresses if they were sucessful? Cause those are definitely there!

or could be change in life circumstances
or retirement...

all kinds of reasons...

but the time and stress would certainly be factors.

When I close my shop it will be over stress and time........not the lack of business.

A lot of the women around here have closed down simply because they are retired now. One woman had her husband pass away and just didn't have the heart for it anymore.

As far as I know, it looks like I'll be the only one that can do wedding cake. As for non-wedding related cakes, it'll be Walmart, grocery store, and few country baker. The closest wedding cake maker is about 50 miles away from here.
