I'm putting a cake board under the smaller cake before I set it on top of the larger cake with dowels between them.

What do I do with this cake board? It's one of those cardboard circles that is white on top and brown on bottom. Do I have to cover it with something? Top only? Top and bottom?

Thanks.

I always cover mine with freezer paper just because I don't like to see the grease marks on the board.

Is freezer paper like waxed paper or foil paper? How do you get it to stick?

I have covered mine with Glad Press N Seal, it sticks to it pretty well. I only covered the top because it was a fondant stacked cake, I don't know if you'd cover the bottom for a BC stacked cake...
