I have heard of using kool-aid in buttercream to flavor and color it. Do you think this would work with MMF too? If I added the kool-aid when the marshmallows were melted? I want to try and get strawberry fondant for a strawberry shortcake cake. Any ideas?

I tried it and the koolaide makes a VERY tart flavored fondant. I did the strawberry and it was good but tart.

Tart's ok, I'm probably just using it for the details. Thanks a lot!

I recently colored red buttercream with kool-aid. It was very tart. I was present while peole were tasting the cake. I warned them that the red parts were tart and that I wanted their opinions. I was surprised that most people liked it ... I personally didn't. I don't know how it would be with MMF, but you can peel off MMF and still eat the cake!
