I'm making a cake for my grandson, and I made Mickey Mouse ears and stars that are on wire. When you put those into your cake do they need to go down to the bord or do you just stick them in a little?

Depends on how heavy they are. And if the cake will be transported...........if so, I would go all the way to the board, bumps could make the droop.

if transporting, you also can wait until you set up on site.

I agree. Wait until you get to the site. I did a similar thing with stars on wires for a wizard cake and as soon as I took off in the car I had to stop and take them out. I replaced them when I got to my final destination.
