I need some help with ideas for a birthday cake for a chef...not too complicated, I think the customer only wants a sheet cake or something like that, but I'm drawing a blank on creative and simple ideas for the decorations, any ideas would be great!! ![]()
I have a picture in my photos ... it was done for the completion of my daughter's Foods 2 college class wherein they had to run a restaurant two nights/week ... all my decorations were made from fondant ... it really wasn't all that hard or complicated -- if you have worked with fondant before. PM me if you have any questions.
It's a brown cake with a chef's hat, apron, pants, clogs, knife, saute pan, etc. on it.
Ksue's cake is wonderful. If you just want to draw on a cake and not make molded fondant things, I'm thinking the Pillsbury dough boy would be cute and not hard. Or the Muppets ... Sweedish chef! If they are old enough to know him.
What a cute idea! The swedish chef from the muppets! I LOVED him and Animal when I was little. Now I'm showing my age!!! ![]()
Just had an idea.....how about making the top of the cake look like the top of a stove, and around the sides of the cake, you could put little chef knives, chef hats, a little saute pan, mixing bowls, spoons, forks, etc?
Or how about making the sheet cake look like a chef's jacket???? If you look in my photos, I did a 1/2 sheet cake as a military jacket. Maybe something like that. (Forgive how it looks....I've only been decorating for 2 months now)
How about making the cake look like a giant wooden cutting board and put fondant veggies or something on it with a fondant knife like he is getting ready to cook something?
If I think of anything else, I'll post it. Out of ideas right now.
