Where can I find a high density roller? I looked at Walmart, none of the rollers were listed as high density. Any ideas or location of stores.
I thought maybe Lowe's would have them

Help Please

Lowes does, that's where I got mine. Look in the paint section for the specialty rollers...my DH went to get it the first time and couldn't find it....I went and wa-lah!

The one I got, I found at WAlmart, but it wasn't listed as a high-density roller... I think it was labeled 'fabric' roller or something like that. But it was white and very close-cell foam.

Lowe's also has them, and in different sizes, too. I want to get one of the 2" ones to use on my mini-tier pan! icon_smile.gif

As for how it works... LIKE A CHARM! If you let the buttercream crust up nicely, and use a very light hand, you don't even need the Viva paper towel, and I personally think that you get a smoother finish without it. Your mileage may vary. icon_smile.gif

I think my roller is a Rubbermaid... white foam, blue handle. But it works great. ALWAYS keep extra heads available, though, in case your buttercream isnt' completely crusted. once these things have icing on them, you have to clean them, then wait for them to completely dry before you can finish your cake. Just better to have an extra, just in case. icon_smile.gif

I got mine at Home Depot, they are called roller foam. I had to ask the paint sales person where they were and he wanted to know what I was going to be using them for. I explained it was for frosting a cake, and did I get a funny look icon_razz.gif . I guess I should bring in a cake for him and show how great they turned out!

This method has been just amazing for me. I use it all the time now.

I saw some that are flat on the ends but they are short (3"). This was at Home Depot. The brand is Roller Foam, 3" Handy Trimmer.
