I am going to attempt to make a bride and groom out of gumpaste. Does anyone have any pearls of wisedom? My due date for this is August 23rd. I have practiced with some playdoh to get the shape, but I am a little nervous about doing it.

The thinner you roll it, the better.

thinner is better if it is flowers your making..but it is figures or people, then it does not have to be thin, unless you want them hollow. icon_smile.gif

Well, I'd suggest using more than water for glue--either water with meringue powder 1/1 ratio, or gum-glue (half gumpaste half water). If not to be edible, I'd use thick toothpicks at joints--neck, arms, legs (if visible and divided). To keep it from cracking and getting dry too quickly on the surface, keep it moist by kneading in a bit of crisco. If possible and it isn't too big/heavy, put it all together at once so that it still is moist and dries as one unit.

Looking forward to photos!
Rae
