Can anyone tell me what is a easy & good recipe for piping flowers on a kids cake. Also I live in Australia & just joined your website (which is so full of great recipes & information) however some of your terminology is different to ours, eg: shortening?? does anyone know what will call this??

shortening is hydrogenated fat.... grease without taste to it. Crisco is one of USA's brand names.

Piping flowers you can use regular buttercream icing...kids like it. Do you have a Wilton book? It has recipes in it for buttercream icing;
