I'm getting ready to make my first Spaghetti cake and I was wondering what color you use to tint your icing to make it look that "noodle" color.

TIA!

Take a peek at the cake I just did a couple weeks ago on my profile.
I used a tiny bit of flesh tone Wilton color.
Good luck!

Yep it was choc. cake and then BC. The meatballs were Rocher Ferro (or whatever) choc. truffles... and the sauce was from trader joes. It was apple raspberry, then I added red color to it and sugar to sweeten it up. This was a blast to makeicon_smile.gif Thanks icon_smile.gif

When I made mine years ago (sorry no pict I could find) I just made the wilton BC frosting with margarine and crisco and the color was perfect. Can't wait to see it!

I used a tiny bit of copper color for my noodles, ferro rocher candy, and strawberry preserves for the sauce. They put a sign next to it that said "Spaghetti Cake...DO NOT TOUCH!!!. I thought it was funny, they never ate it, just looked at it at least while I was there!

I'd like to know how to make one, but I'm confused about it. Do you just make your cake(s) and instead of frosting it smooth like you normally would, you just use a round tip and pipe a bunch of striggles all over the cake to represent the noddles?

When I go to visit my sister we always go to trader joes. We don't have them here in Utah. I've bought many things from them and brought them back with me. I'm going to be makin my mother this cake(her favorite dinner is spaghetti and meatball) for her birthday in two weeks.

thanks for all your help guys....Here it is.....I think I should of used a smaller tip for the noodles, but it looks pretty good....I didn't have any copper or flesh tone coloring, so I used a little brown and yellow.....

Your cake looks great. What did you use for the meatballs? I made a spaghetti cake this week also. I used just a tiny bit of yellow for the noodles and no-bake cookies for the meatballs. Then I used homemade strawberry jam for the sauce. It was yummy.

I used the Ferrero Rocher Candies for meatballs.

I used a #5 tip......the noodles looked kinda fat.....

I just hope it survives a 2 hour trip in 80 degree weather.....
