I was wandering how many of you stock up on your cake mixes when you find them on sale and how do you store them. Do you just stick them in the cupboard or (I know this is going to sound strange) put them in the freezer? Can you store them in the freezer. I was just wandering. I have seen a couple of good sales on DH and Pillsbury: however I didn't want to buy to awful many for fear of something happening to them, such as mealworms, or can mealworms get into the cake mixes? Sorry if I sound stupid I as still learning a lot about this whole cake thing. ![]()
I take the mix pouches out of the boxes and store them in airtight storage bins. I work on a pretty small scale right now, so I only keep 3-5 of each type on hand. Of course, I live across the street from a super Wal-Mart, so it's super easy for me to hop over and get more if I need it.
i don't think there should be a problem if they're stored in the cupboard at room temperature. everytime i see a sale i buy. so i have a large cupboard specifically for cake mixes. never had any weavles or worms . maybe someone else may have another experience with it and may share...
