I've just gotten me a projector and I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out which way is best to get the images on my cakes.. My shadow is getting the best of me... I did my Maxine cake with the projector but I was guessing on alot of the lines... Any special tricks ? Thanks in Advance!!!

Hmmm...I've had problems with my shadow getting in the way too but I usually manage to find a position to keep the shadow off the cake. I know that doesn't help! lol but keep playing around and you'll get a system worked out.

Lisa is right!! You just have to move around and find a spot that is comfortable.

Thanks for the confidence booster! I think I might have to lay on top of my counter to lose the shadow icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Kiddiekakes- you are my driving force behind being able to master this machine... thumbs_up.gif

If you have a chance check out the one cake I did do with the projector, I had to guess on a few lines but managed to get it lined up fairly well I think for first time using it....

LisaMS- & Kiddiekakes- I can just see myself straddling the counter top and my hubby walking in icon_lol.gif He already thinks I'm crazy! I told him to try to do his job with two kids running between his legs -- I got no comment out of him on that note ... I will let you two know when I get the masterpiece done tonight if you don't mind...

I looked at your Maxine cake and I was really impressed with your work using the projector. I went to Kopykake's website because I thought about buying one...but that only lasted for the few seconds before I got sticker shock!

I think I'll ask for it for my birthday or something. Anyway, I'm rambling now. Your stuff looks awesome!

Rachmakescakes- Thanks for the nice comments on my cakes.. They really make it feel worth all the effort.. I got my projector off of EBay and it was really reasonable.. I really liked that it was brand new...

Someone was on ebay a month ago with 3 projectors selling them for $170 each.

Keep an eye out on them like that.

Good Luck! I paid 175.00 and I think they charge 14.80 for shipping on all their projectors... It's coming from California and it took me almost two weeks to get it to Tennessee....

I have to turn off my kitchen light and just use the light from the projector.

Like lisascakes, I turn off my kitchen light. The darker your background icing the harder it is to see. I really love mine icon_smile.gif

I also turn off my lights when I use my Kopykake. It really eliminates the shadows. I love my Kopykake!! icon_smile.gif
