im making a shoe for next weekend. is it better to color the GP first or can i paint it after it is dry. Im not sure if i want to do it black or a color. anytime i have made a hot pink GP bra it always fades to pastel by the time it dries, and i dont want that to happen to the shoe. any thoughts

I have painted it when it's completely dry. It stays shiny if you use colouring straight from the jar. Doesn't do anything to the gumpaste though - just make sure that you don't touch it until it's completely dry or you'll leave fingerprints that you can't get rid of.

Hi guys,
I have made a shoe for the first time...the front and bow looked very nice but heel....it looks dry and ugly..what have I done wrong/? Sweetcakes wrote that she made the heel first and allowed to dry...I didn't...but she also had the same trouble I did....what should I do differently??
Thank you
