I just wanted to share the wedding cake I did for yesterday. I'm so excited how it turned out and was pretty darn happy with myself. I wanted to share with other cake fanatics like me who understand how much work and how much stress goes into wedding cakes. I think I was going to give myself high blood pressure just worrying about all the things that could go wrong. It went off great!
This was my first time using fresh flowers on a cake. It's 6", 10" and 14" squares with freehand scrolls and dot borders in buttercream. The florist made the topper but I placed all the other flowers myself. The cake was SO heavy! It had 3 different flavors of cake and 3 different flavors of frosting. I torted each layer so it was a monster!
I had to get my husband to carry it to the car and into the reception hall. Then he helped me wrap the stems of the flowers in plastic wrap and I placed them on the cake.
