I am baking a 11x15 sheet, using the cake docs. white sour cream recipe. there are two flower nails in the pan for heating cores, i baked at 350 degrees. after 40 min, i tested it and got a clean toothpick through the middle, so i pulled it out. i just went to turn it out of the pan and the middle has sunken bad! i cut it open a bit and it looks undercooked. do i put it back in the over, or is it history??

I've never had that happen before, but I cook everything on 325 degrees. If it were me, I'd stick it back in the oven and let it cook some more and at least try to salvage it. You can cover up the sunken part and any cracks that form with icing later.

WHOA... I just had the same thing happen to me. Mine has been cooling for about 15mins. It sunk a little when I took it out. Tested it and came out clean. I turned it out and it sunk a little. I left it to cool and got on this site. I'm kinda scared to go look at it. It seemed done. Let's cross our fingers I'm sure we'll be ok!
