Just wondering (and I am sure there is an obvious reason) but in my Wilton I class the instructor suggested using parchment paper to smooth out buttercream.....does Viva work better than that? Just curious because I have seen several posts about keeping seperate paper towels for decorating but i would think keeping parchment would be easier?

i'm certainly no expert, but I found personally viva paper towels work better than parchment. I have even tried wax paper. I don't know what, I would suggest you give each a try and go with what works best for you

I agree with brooke...You need to try them all yourself to see what you like...I love the viva paper towel method..

I like the viva papertowel method because it is more pliable than the parchment. The papertowel drapes over the sides of the cake for easy smoothing, less wrinkles. Plus, because it's think and more flexible, you can feel the icing underneath better than if you use parchement or waxed paper. Just my opinion, but everyone has their own reason for liking whichever they prefer!
