ok i am a cheapo
I want to make a star shaped cake foe the fourth of july picnic and was wondering if anybosy had ever mafe one out of a square pan?
Let me know how you cut it please Thanks!!

Dont see why you shouldn't be able to do it. After all we are carving everything from animals to books and fruits out of cake. I would make a template from wax or parchment paper and put it right ontop of the cake to cut it out.

Oh wow, very clever, I would have just printed a star the size of the cake and cut around it, very very clever to use the cut out parts to form part of the star.... must remember that one for other shapes..... great idea!
