I am hoping to do my first cake dummy with rolled fondant. My question is - do I still have to put that coat of buttercream on or can I forgo it? I was planning on wrapping the cake dummy with tinfoil so it will be easy clean up, But I thought that if I don't use the buttercream - I can easly reuse the fondant for another dummy since I will be using onlu 1 color on it.
Thanks in advance. Also, any tricks to getting perfect square corners with fondant?
you can just wet the dummy with a little water and the fondant willl stick. once its on though and dried you wont be able to peel it off and reuse it, but that might not be what you meant. use the fondant smoothers to help you get the sharp edges.
