There aren't any cake decorating shows? I'm not talking about the ones where the pros compete against each other and win lots of money. There are plenty of those.
I was watching the food channel last night and it hit me- why are there so many cooking and baking shows out there that deal with so many areas of food- EXCEPT cake decorating! 
I mean, they've got the food challenges, but they seem to skip some of the really good parts. Nearly everything I've learned, I've learned from all of you here who are so generous to pass along what you know.
Us cake decorators are forced to buy dvd's, books, take classes, share info with each other, but everyone else gets these great "play-by-plays" for nearly every other food category.
Does anyone else feel like this? Does anyone else wish there were shows that actually took you step by step on things like covering a cake with fondant, gumpaste roses, good buttercream, etc?
I love watching the cake challenges but what I'd really like to see is some of our faves (Duff, Weber, Peters) do a show where they show the whole process. Is it because they'd give too much away? 
Yep...then who would buy their books?

Hi, if you have a look at www.youtube.com and add Cake decorating in the search engine, you can find wheeps of little videos about covering a cake, making gumpaste roses, buttercream roses etc etc.

I know, I would love to take some sort of advanced decorating class but with young kids at home there's no way I can leave for a week let alone spend thousands on travel and paying a famous decorator to give me a week of classes.
Oh well! I'll keep up with my trial and error I guess!
