Make sure it is the tilting one and not the regular one. The tiltin one is okay for small cakes but not for the bigger cakes. It has a tendency to lean.

I just bought a white Wilton Turntable (not the tilting kind) for $9.99 at Walmart. Run there really quick and see if they have them. It'll save you on the shipping.

I have one of these, but once I put my cake on it, it just won't turn because my cakes always weigh like 25 pounds, since I always my cakes tall, at least 7 inches tall or taller. But it works on small jobs. icon_smile.gif

Those ones are only something like $12 new so I wouldn't bother. I have it and it works fine for heavier cakes, but you HAVE to have a good cake base. For large cakes I prefer my bamboo lazy susan I got at Sam's for $15!

I have that turntable, as well as the turntable that is closer to the table, but I don't like either of them. Can't really do sheet cakes on them. I found a nice large wooden turntable at the local thrift shop and am in heaven! Just because it has the Wilton name doesn't mean you need it.

I definately agree with you about that. They think just cause they put the Wilton name on it that it's OK to charge a rediculous amount of money! usaribbon.gif

I want the tilting turntable. It's at AC Moore for like $60.00. I am going to get it soon with a 50% off coupon. I think it will be a good idea to have to do the side decorating.

I bought the tilting turntable, used it once and returned it. It has some serious design flaws! The top is very wobbly and just pops off and it doesn't turn smoothly and mine wouldn't lock into position at all.

The only one that I see in Joanns, Michaels or AC Moore is the Wilton. Is there another out there? I like to get things from these stores because you can use the coupons.

Michaels and JoAnns frustrate me. They only carry Wilton and a limited supply. Since there is no cake supply store near here, I'm just going to have to open my own!!!!!!! A good turn table is HIGH on my list of things to get! I just bought the wilton one for like $10 and it is okay, but I want something really heavy duty.

I use the Ateco 612. Its solid metal, heavy, holds up to 150 lbs., and Godzilla would have trouble tipping it. It doesn't tilt, but tilt is the last thing I want.

See them Here: http://www.atecousa.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=dstands
