I have one of these, but once I put my cake on it, it just won't turn because my cakes always weigh like 25 pounds, since I always my cakes tall, at least 7 inches tall or taller. But it works on small jobs. ![]()
Those ones are only something like $12 new so I wouldn't bother. I have it and it works fine for heavier cakes, but you HAVE to have a good cake base. For large cakes I prefer my bamboo lazy susan I got at Sam's for $15!
I have that turntable, as well as the turntable that is closer to the table, but I don't like either of them. Can't really do sheet cakes on them. I found a nice large wooden turntable at the local thrift shop and am in heaven! Just because it has the Wilton name doesn't mean you need it.
Yeah that is the same one I have and I got mine at wal-mart for 9.99. Check there first.
Wiltons is plastic... it can't be good quality. It never occured to me that Wilton is a good quality name..Now !! Kitchen Aid and Magic Line is good quality ..
Michaels and JoAnns frustrate me. They only carry Wilton and a limited supply. Since there is no cake supply store near here, I'm just going to have to open my own!!!!!!! A good turn table is HIGH on my list of things to get! I just bought the wilton one for like $10 and it is okay, but I want something really heavy duty.
The only one that I see in Joanns, Michaels or AC Moore is the Wilton. Is there another out there? I like to get things from these stores because you can use the coupons.
I use the Ateco 612. Its solid metal, heavy, holds up to 150 lbs., and Godzilla would have trouble tipping it. It doesn't tilt, but tilt is the last thing I want.

My mom gave me an antique Wilton turntable very similar to that Ateco 612, and I absolutely love it!!!!
