Making Animals From Fondant

I would like to make a cat and a dog from fondant to have them sit on a 6" cake, do you put any support (like a toothpick) to hold them up, or will they stay up by them self? First time doing fondant.

If you stand them up to dry, they will keep their shape and you won't need toothpicks to support.
Good luck! Warning though... you'll get addicted to modeling fondant... I know I am
