I have been asked if I can do an egg free cake. I have never done one before so I was just wondering if any one out there has a great recipe for one. I am also wondering if the consistency of the cake would be changed any without the eggs? I would hate to give someone a pancake. icon_confused.gif

It's been almost 12 hours. This isn't a good sign icon_sad.gif I may have to make the poor child a pancake after all. If anyone has any good suggestions, I'm still up for them. I have a little time, I think.... I hope... icon_lol.gif

I can't help with a recipe. But I did a search for Egg Free Cake in the forums and here is the link with all of the results. I do not know what information is good but I saw at least 6 other topics that had simliar information.

Why am I not seeing the 6. One of these days I am going to learn how to use the search on this site. Every time I try it doesn't give me what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm not holding my mouth right. I will keep trying, Thank you for your help!

doh I didn't realize my link would take you to a search page.

I typed in "Egg Free Cake"

Then click on "Search for all terms" this should narrow it down.,

You can buy an egg replacer, but don't let the name fool you...without eggs, it likes to crumble apart. I have not noticed the flat as a pancake look it though.

My kids are dairy and egg free and it is a pain in the sweet patootie!

Thank you Rudith for the recipe! I can't wait to try it! If you ever get a good chocolate one let me know!

Schmoop I'm sure it is a big pain in the patootie! And no dairy either!!! Oh my, how do you cook?!?!?! I'm sure you have to be a wizard in the kitchen! What is their favorite egg free, dairy free desert that you make?

Hi, I also had to do an egg free cake recently and because it had to also be diabetic I couldn't for the life of me find a recipe. And then an elderly lady friend who had to 'get by' during WW2 told me that 1 tbsp gelatine, in 1/3 cup water, is a perfectly good substitute for one egg. Just mix them together and use as normal. I tried it and the cake (sweetened with pineapple in juice) was absolutely fine!
